On successful completion of this unit, the student will be able to:
Critically compare and contrast positive psychology and faith informed approaches and consider how they can be applied to transform the lives of young people
Evaluate faith-informed positive psychology approaches
Develop and apply expert and specialised skills to engage collaboratively with young people to create positive outcomes
Evaluate and apply specialised knowledge and technical skills to build wellbeing, resilience and hope in professional practice.
This unit evaluates and investigates how positive psychology can be integrated with perspectives on theology and faith. Positive psychology tries to improve well-being, strength, and resilience, rather than focussing on pathology. This unit appraises and critiques this approach and considers how it can be used to improve the lives of young people, so they thrive.
