On successful completion of this unit, the student will be able to:
Produce and analyse a clear understanding of the major themes in a particular theological tradition.
Review critically principal theologians of the tradition and the special contribution they have made.
Identify major theological controversies that have contributed to the current shape of the tradition.
Consolidate and synthesise the contents of representative confessional statements or other sources of doctrinal authority within the tradition.
Demonstrate how the particular theological tradition is placed within the wider Christian tradition, indicating a knowledge of the way the tradition informs and enriches that larger whole.
This unit allows a student to explore a particular theological or ecclesial tradition through engagement with the primary and other significant documents relating to that tradition, and through engagement with representative secondary sources. Typically the unit will consider the distinctive theological positions and statements of the tradition and their sources.
Teaching strategies include some or all of the following: lectures and tutorials; residential and weekend schools; class discussions; presentation of instructional material in the form of printed documentation, DVD, video and audio tape and online interaction.

There will possibly be a difference in the schedule and/or the prescribed assessment tasks, however both will cover and assess the same content.
