This unit is an exploratory internship which is usually undertaken in the first or second year of studies. The internship allows students to explore ministry or vocational opportunities and work settings. This internship may assist a student in the discovery of interests, transferable skills, values, and other key components important in the choice of major or vocational direction.
Students are supervised by an academic at the College and a supervisor in the vocation or ministry context.
The internship will normally involve
- 5-7 hours per week at the internship site;
- maintaining a journal;
- regular meetings with the site supervisor and Academic in charge;
- and completion of an internship evaluation.
The Academic in Charge will meet with the student on a regular basis, help the student determine goals for the internship, read and comment on the student’s journal on a regular basis, and maintain contact with the Internship Supervisor.
The Unit Offerings listed above are a guide only and the timetable for any year is the final authority. The College may vary offerings based on demand, regulatory requirements, continual improvement processes or other conditions.

There will possibly be a difference in the schedule and/or the prescribed assessment tasks, however both will cover and assess the same content.
