On successful completion of this unit, the student will be able to:
Describe the key dimensions of leadership.
Identify and analyse various theories of leadership from a Christian perspective.
Identify and discuss the essential character traits necessary for effective leadership.
Evaluate self-leadership and self-awareness in leadership.
The unit defines leadership and identifies the key dimensions of leadership. These are explored and evaluated from a Christian perspective. A variety of predominant leadership characteristics are identified and applied to the individual conceptualising their personal leadership attributes. At the conclusion of the unit, the student is expected to be able to analyse, describe and assess leadership principles from a general perspective as well as a specifically Christian perspective.
Analysis and assessment of leadership principles from a general as well as Christian perspectives
Teaching strategies include lectures, tutorials, journaling, and presentation of instructional material in the form of printed documentation and OHP. Students also learn by class discussion, personal study, preparation of assignments and assessment comments on their work and online interaction.
