On successful completion of this unit, the student will be able to:
Perform required operations with personal responsibility and autonomy
Generate solutions to problems or situations encountered in the Industry Engagement Placement.
Investigate and assess personal interests, transferable skills, values, and other key components considered important in the chosen industry including a Christian perspective.
This unit is a capstone vocational unit: Industry Engagement Placement. It allows students interact with the employment environment of the Industry in their field of specialisation to prepare for their preferred vocation.
Students are supervised by an Academic at the College and a Supervisor in the Industry Engagement Placement context. The placement will normally involve
- at least 80 hours of work-engagement at the location of the Industry Engagement Placement
- recording a journal
- regular meetings with Industry Engagement Placement Supervisor
- electronic meetings with the Academic in Charge
- completion of an Industry Engagement Placement evaluation
The Academic in Charge will meet with the student on regular basis, help the student determine goals for the Industry Engagement Placement, read and comment on the student’s journal on a regular basis, and maintain contact with the Industry Engagement Placement Supervisor.

This unit may be available in different modes of delivery i.e. online and face-to-face as listed above. The unit content will not differ between these modes of delivery. There will possibly be a difference in the schedule and/or the prescribed assessment tasks, however both will cover and assess the same content.
