On successful completion of this unit, the student will be able to:
Describe activities undertaken in the chosen Industry Engagement Placement
Identify personal academic and vocational strengths and weaknesses
Describe interests, transferable skills, values, and other key components important in the choice of personal vocation
This unit is an exploratory vocational exposure unit: Industry Engagement Placement. It allows students to interact with the employment environment of an Industry in their chosen field of specialisation.
This unit will allow students to explore their aptitude for this vocation.
Students are supervised by an Academic at the College and a supervisor in the Industry Engagement Placement context. The placement will normally involve
The Academic in Charge will meet with the student on regular basis, help the student determine goals for the Industry Engagement Placement, read and comment on the student’s journal on a regular basis, and maintain contact with the Industry Engagement Placement Supervisor.

This unit may be available in different modes of delivery i.e. online and face-to-face as listed above. The unit content will not differ between these modes of delivery. There will possibly be a difference in the schedule and/or the prescribed assessment tasks, however both will cover and assess the same content.
