HS637 Radicals, Reformers and Revolutionaries
On successful completion of this unit, the student will be able to:
Conceptualise, plan, research, and produce an artifact (written, visual or otherwise) that engages with, creatively illustrates, or interprets an aspect of history.
Examine issues of historiography and method through a critical reading of selected historians
Articulate in a written or oral format, a project concept and plan
This is a course of guided reading which allows the self-motivated student the freedom to write history in an area of their interest. As such, it is a capstone for the History major. This is a course of intensive reading, and the requirement is to read in the area of interest and engage in a careful analysis of the period or issue under consideration. The students’ reading will be supplemented with seminars focused on awareness regarding the issues in writing history.

This unit may be available in different modes of delivery i.e. online and face-to-face as listed above. The unit content will not differ between these modes of delivery. There will possibly be a difference in the schedule and/or the prescribed assessment tasks, however both will cover and assess the same content.
