On successful completion of this unit, the student will be able to:
Apply knowledge and demonstrate understanding in an area of education studies.
Demonstrate inquiry skills and apply them in a systematic study involving information gathering, analysis and interpretation.
Write clear and concise papers according to accepted conventions in the discipline and demonstrate skills in both analysis and synthesis of findings.
This unit is designed to enable the learner to pursue an area of study relevant to education studies approved by the Course Coordinator and not covered in the curriculum. The unit is likely to consist of a customised learning experience for a learner who wishes to gain an in-depth knowledge and expertise beyond what is offered in core and elective units of the course. Areas of study that may be included in this unit may either focus on education theories and models not otherwise covered in the unit, or research inquiries in the area of education studies. The learner will meet with the supervisor for discussion and direction.

This unit may be available in different modes of delivery i.e. online and face-to-face as listed above. The unit content will not differ between these modes of delivery. There will possibly be a difference in the schedule and/or the prescribed assessment tasks, however both will cover and assess the same content.
