Unit Description

This unit specifically deals with the sorts of factors and issues that need to be taken into account for a church to move into line with its designated purpose; from inward orientation and concern with self, to outward and servant oriented living.

  1. Western context of hostility to and decline of the church.
  2. Congregational assessment, audit and discernment tools.
  3. Congregational transformation consultancy processes.
  4. Healthy leaders/ healthy congregational systems.
  5. Cultural diversity and celebrating all ages, all cultures, all stages of faith.
  6. Spiritual renewal and discipleship systems.
  7. Community ministry and bridging the gap to faith-sharing.
  8. Strategic partnerships with government, business, non-profits and Christian agencies.
  9. Leadership and change management.
  10. Case studies of urban congregational transformation.
