Analyse and evaluate different models of youth ministry.
Compare strategies and resources to effectively engage in youth ministry.
This unit offers a broad overview of the basic foundations of youth ministry and invites students to reflect strategically and theologically about ministry with the present generation of youth. The theory and practice of youth ministry will be explored through group work and theoretical input. Students will be introduced to a range of ideas and principles applicable to different contexts and given the tools to evaluate and implement these principles. The unit is suitable for those wishing to be better equipped for voluntary youth leadership as well as for those interested in youth ministry as a vocation. Although aimed primarily at preparing the student for youth ministry in the local church, this course will also provide a basis for exploring other forms of youth ministry.
