Unit Description

This unit begins by looking at the creation story in Genesis as God’s self-revelation. Particular attention is paid to the creation of people, and their reflection of God’s image. The affirmation of personal worth is extended by considering the life and work of Jesus Christ. Doctrine related to the death and resurrection of Christ is explored with specific mention of grace, salvation and forgiveness and their relevance to contemporary life. The unit then concludes by looking at the topic of faith. Students shall look at teaching from the New Testament and the Old Testament, as well as specific illustrations from history. A strong emphasis will be placed upon faith as a gift from God that has application in both personal and communal Christian life.
