Unit Description

This unit details a systematic approach to Christian theology. The unit suggests basic strategies for students to consider differences in theological opinion including questions of theological authority. The unit shall consider theological material from historical, cultural and literary points of view. Some description is provided as to how Christians in different times and places have used the Scriptures and the resources of their culture to formulate belief and to understand the world. Students are invited to explore their own belief systems and appreciate how past and present contexts have combined to shape them. Comparison with the beliefs of other groups will be encouraged.
