Unit Description

This unit develops the knowledge gained in TH401.102, TH402.102, TH403.102 and TH404.102. The unit focuses upon communicating: biblical knowledge, doctrinal differences, differences in theological opinion, and the language of a range of Christian denominations. The unit begins by emphasising written communication with particular emphasis placed upon evidence of discrimination in the use of sources of theological opinion. The unit then discusses verbal communication of biblical knowledge and theological opinion. Particular attention is paid to appropriate application using contemporary illustrations. The differences between academic and everyday language in both written and verbal forms are noted with the student required to clearly demonstrate the latter.
