Unit Description

This unit begins by looking at some historical examples of how theological belief and historical influences have shaped church practice. These examples may include the crusades, pacifism and slavery. The unit then looks at Scripture as providing the basis for Christian morality with both Old Testament and New Testament perspectives considered. These Scriptural principles are applied to contemporary moral/ethical and social issues. The unit concludes by engaging with some of the different contemporary paradigms that are applied to these same ethical and social issues.
